CAC is the average cost of acquiring a customer, found by dividing marketing and sales spending by the number of new customers.

Definition

Total investment in marketing and sales divided by the number of new customers acquired in a period. In industrial marketing, CAC must be evaluated against LTV to ensure profitability across longer sales cycles.
